Built between 1890 and 1893 by Alexander Pomerantsev. After the 1917 Revolution was nationalized and renamed GUM. This modern 3-story arcade is the largest shop in Moscow. GUM contained over 1,200 separate shops and it is one of Moscow's biggest and popular shopping centre.
Most of the shops in GUM are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Over 300,000 people visiting GUM every day. The architecture of GUM is very interesting. The Gosudarstvenny Universalny Magazin (GUM) in Moscow is a must see place in Russia!
